As a passionate comic collector with over 40 years of experience, who has grown up amidst the challenges of Watts, CA, I am committed to using my love for comics as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the youth in our community. Despite the adversities of gang violence and drugs, I have found solace and empowerment in the pages of comic books. Now, I aim to give back by educating and promoting the works of black and ethnic comic book writers and artists. I believe that comics not only open the creative minds of our youth but also serve as a powerful tool for reading and vocabulary enhancement.
